ClearSea Bot is a semi-autonomous or remote-controlled water-cleaning robot that skims the surface of lakes, rivers, or coastal waters to collect floating debris such as plastic bottles, bags, and microplastics trapped in surface scum.
How it works:
Moves slowly across the water using solar-powered propellers.
Uses a floating “boom” or funnel at the front to guide trash into a collection basket inside the robot.
Has fine mesh filters to trap small pieces of plastic and allow clean water to flow back out.
Sensors detect wildlife to avoid harming fish or birds.
What it does:
Collects and stores floating waste until it reaches capacity.
Can send a signal when full so it can be emptied at shore.
Data sensors track the type and amount of trash collected for research.
Why it’s needed:
A large portion of plastic waste stays afloat or near the surface, threatening aquatic life.
ClearSea Bot makes it easy for cities or community groups to clean harbors, rivers, and lakes quickly without harming wildlife.
